No-kill
As a no-kill shelter, LAPS provides housing, food, companionship, and medical care for an indefinite period of time, sometimes for the rest of a cat's life. That can be costly, but it is our commitment.
Volunteer
LAPS is staffed completely by volunteers and provides care and adoption services for many homeless cats and kittens at our shelter in South Williamsport, PA. We welcome new volunteers!
Nonprofit
LAPS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We rely on donations to help with everyday expenses like utilities, heating, cooling and veterinary bills along with food, litter, medicine and other supplies for the cats.

The LAPS Difference
Being a no-kill, volunteer-run shelter is certainly not without its challenges, but the rewards more than make up for those. Our passionate volunteers strive each day to make our residents happy, and we take delight in each one that finds a forever home, although we do miss them! Once they become a part of our family, they never need to worry about having a place to live. Even if their forever home fails to live up to its name, we will always find space for them to come back to us.
